Summer of Series 2012

Hosted by Amanda of On a Book Bender and Kelly of Reading the Paranormal

Since I was toying around with the idea of doing something like this this winter, why not join in the fun early?! Simply put, get further into (and possibly finish, for me) some series before starting others!

Since discovering FictFact several months ago I have been made aware or many series (and authors) that I had never heard of before. So, before delving into some new series I'm going to knock out some I have already begun to get into. Most of these are books I don't own, but my Public Library has a lot of books available through inter-library loan.

Now, I don't actually expect read ALL of the books listed below, but I hope to put a pretty good dent in the list! For exceptionally long series (I'm lookin' at you Stephanie Plum and Cedar Cove!) I will only list the next 2 or 3 in the series. Here in my list, in order of how they are presently in my tabs (in other words, no order in particular ;) )

A Song of Ice and Fire

  • A Feast for Crows ~ finished June 21, 2012
  • A Dance with Dragons

All Souls Trilogy

  • Shadow of Night (I actually was lucky enough to snag a Netgalley copy!)

Cedar Cove Series

  • 311 Pelican Court
  • 50 Harbor Street (Yes, I know I skipped #4. 44 Cranberry Point was actually my very first CC as well as Debbie Macomber book.)
  • 6 Rainier Drive

Maternal Instincts Mystery

  • Formula for Murder ~ finished July 5, 2012

Time Quartet

  • Many Waters

Stephanie Plum

  • Ten Big Ones
  • Eleven on Top
  • Twelve Sharp

The Dark Tower

  • The Wind Through the Keyhole

Wallflowers

  • It Happened One Autumn
  • Devil in Winter
  • Scandal in Spring

Hannah Swensen

  • Cinnamon Roll Murder

Hellions of Halstead Hall

  • How to Woo a Reluctant Lady
  • To Wed a Wild Lord

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

  • The Sea of Monsters
  • The Titan's Curse
20 books, not too bad. =)

Now this list has it's own spot on my GoodReads shelves.

  1. PERCY!!! Have fun with that series! I love the Sea of Monsters! I am so happy they decided to continue making this series into movies and I hope they do a much better job going forward.

My husband is finishing up Game of Thrones and lucky for him, I have the other books. I have not read them yet...

    1. I haven't seen the first movie, I saw on Twitter how much fans of the series were upset with the way it was done. I listened to the first of the Percy Jackson books on audio and wasn't crazy about the narrator. Every time I'm in the children's section of the library I see the series sitting there taunting me. I've decided to shit the rest of them up. ;)

I have just these last two (until Mr. Martin publishes more) A Song of Ice and Fire series. I'm 70pages into A Feast for Crows already today. yay :D

  3. Hey, Kylee! The only series I've heard of on your list are Percy, Dark Towers, and Stephanie Plum. I liked One for the Money but not enough to pursue the series. I've heard great things about Dark Towers. Happy reading!

    1. I loved all the Dark Tower books! I have the last 4 in hardcover and am constantly on the search for the first 3 in hardcover (I only own the paperbacks right now). The Plum books are mindless/fun books for me. I use them (and others of their ilk) as literary palate cleansers. =)

  4. I just joined in the All Series, All Summer! I've only read the first Stephanie Plum so I'll wait a bit before I tackle the rest :)

    1. I'm not going to try to read all of the Stephanie Plum books this summer. I think that's all I would end up reading if I did. =)
