Teaser Tuesdays {11-18-08}

  • Grab your current read
  • Let the book fall open to a random page
  • Share with us two (2) "teaser" sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you're getting your "teaser" from ... that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you've given!
  • Please avoid SPOILERS.
This week's teasers are from The Safety of Secrets by Delaune Michel.
A plastic bag with a bottle of shampoo for my mother that could only be bought at the beauty parlor was hanging from the handlebars of my bike and kept slapping my left leg everytime I pedaled. I suddenly wished that a lifetime of that bottle hitting my leg could be my punishment for getting this haircut instead of what I was going to fate when I got home.

mizb @ Should Be Reading hosts this weekly event. Visit this link to see other teasers for this week.

  3. @Wendi: My youngest was 5 weeks early and came home at 4lbs 2oz. Now she is a 2 3/4 year old 27lb terror. I love her to death, but man, she keeps me on my toes.

  4. Kylee - that is wonderful to hear!! My son is almost 2 (Christmas Eve), but he was 7lbs 14 oz when born. They though I had mild gestational diabetes, but didn't treat it as they wanted him to gain weight - it worked! Mine keeps me on my toes too - he is into everything - although he does listen well most of the time!! :)

  6. This was a great scene in *The Safety of Secrets*. As a mother, I can't imagine wanted to have such tight control on your kids, that she dictated how Fiona wore her hair! Some people ...
